good things list / february

как же хорошо, что февраль - самый короткий месяц в году. и как же хорошо, что он уже закончился. с ним у меня получилось примерно тоже самое, что и с январем - было непросто, но я старалась. кроме учебы, работы и блога, я каждый день медитировала, регулярно занималась йогой и ходила в спортзал три-четыре раза в неделю, периодически занималась шведским. а еще, я тридцать дней выполняла программу "магического утра" по книге хэла элрода, и чуть позже напишу об этом опыте подробный пост. как и вообще всегда, были паршивые дни, но были и замечательные. и чем меньше оставалось времени до марта, тем легче и лучше все становилось. февраль дался мне с трудом, но в итоге получился успешным месяцем, потому что я отказывалась опускать руки и продолжать совершать новые попытки касательно всего того, что имеет большое значение. открывай полную версию поста, чтобы узнать о том, что хорошего было за последние четыре недели и делись своими пунктами в комментариях <3

i am so glad that february is the shortest month of the year. and i am so relived that it is over. february resembled january a lot - it was challenging, but i kept on making an effort. apart from studying, working and blogging, i have been mediating every day, doing yoga on a regular basis and going to the gym three-four times a week. i studied swedish from time to time as well. on top of that, i completed the thirty-day "miracle morning" program created by hal alrod and described in his book. i need some time, and i will definitely write a detailed post about this experience. all in all, there were awful days and some wonderful ones, but the closer march was, the easier and better everything became. i struggled in february, but i managed to have a successful month, because i refused to give up and i kept on trying again and again, when the challenge was linked to something that really mattered to me. open the full version of the post to discover my latest good things list. finally, please share a few points from your own in the comments section <3

fanny ekstrand is a swedish blogger, whom i discovered on instagram. it is so funny to acknowledge, but it seems like i have always followed her posts, even though that is not the case. i love when people dress in unconventional ways. clothes are such an important part of my identity. i am excited by the way fanny dresses as much as i am by her attitude. every post by fanny is a source of inspiration for me, and it is a little push to keep on making small steps on the self-discovery journey in terms of style. i wanted you to meet her, so i sent her my updated questionnaire. and, luckily, she replied right away. it was another reason to admire her. fanny is twenty three years old, and she is based in stockholm. she works as a content creator on social media and brand consultant. also, she runs a fashion blog and does a podcast "add to bag" with her friend viola bergström. check fanny`s answers down below and make sure that you follow her on instagram for more inspiration.

вчера был мой последний день в ksenia schnaider, а сегодня началась новая другая жизнь. я знала, что обязательно захочу написать об этом, но когда пришло время, оказалось, что навести порядок среди своих мыслей и толково что-то изложить сложно. несмотря на это, я таки попробовала.

some people see simple things in extraordinary ways and manage to capture them beautifully. tanya is one of such human beings. i feel honoured and inspired to be close with people who have a specific vision, a unique style and a different way of doing things. this post is a reminder to each and one of us that there is always something precious to appreciate, that after each rainstorm comes sun, that after another failure there is always a long-awaited victory. also it is a thank-you note to tanya. hopefully we will manage to do a number of cool things together in the future.

taking to consideration that i work in the fashion industry, it is unbelievable how rarely i actually talk about clothes on my blog. today is that exceptional case, and i am excited about it!

i was four or five years old when i let my mom know that i wanted to choose my outfits myself. even at that very young age it was very clear to me that clothes had a strong effect on my being and i was not ready to compromise in that regard. i wanted to look good in my own understanding, and i wanted to look good on any occasion. i hated an idea that you had to wear old or ugly clothes at home or when you went to the countryside. i was convinced that there were outfits that were both appropriate and good-looking. throughout the years of growing up and changing, i have had various preferences, but i have always known what i wanted to look like. for me clothing has always been so much more than a way to cover my body up. for me, its essential characteristic was and is how it expresses what you feel and how it makes you feel on top of that. there are days when i choose an outfit in order to express my emotional state and there are others when i try to hide it with the help of clothing. this is why my favourite fashion writer is leandra medine, the founder of manrepeller. i relate to her attitude to clothes a lot, despite the fact that we dress ve-e-ery differently.

meet christina-maria kravvari

one of the reasons why i love my job so much is an opportunity to meet extraordinary people from all around the world. christina-maria kravvari is twenty six years old, she is based in athens, greece, where she works as a fashion editor and a writer at marie claire greece. after e-mailing back and forth for months, i had a chance to meet christina in person in october when we were both in paris for fashion week. we had coffee and even managed to attend a re-see event of the latest louis vuitton collection together. it was a huge pleasure for me to meet her personally and to talk a little bit about all sorts of things. it is always joyful to meet someone ambitious, but also genuine and kind. christina is exactly that way, so naturally i wanted you to meet her! follow christina-maria on instagram to see her daily life in athens, as well as during her trips for fashion weeks in london, milan and paris. i am always inspired by what she posts! by the way, the song christina suggests in the end is the one that i could not stop listening after she had mentioned it. this is exactly why i am fond of this questionnaire - it is always a chance to find something out.

when you work in fashion, your life is divided into seasons and collections. that is what all of your plans and memories are based on. exactly a year ago i helped organizing ksenia schnaider fall-winter 16 presentation at mercedes-benz kiev fashion days, whereas five months ago we organized a runway show to present spring-summer 17 collection. in between those there were a tradeshow in paris, then another one in berlin and a presentation of a collaboration in kiev. after our runway show in september, we went to warsaw and did another one there, as well as brought the collection to a showroom in paris. just two weeks before this presentation, a part of the new collection was presented at the same tradeshow as last year in berlin. it is fun to be able to have a recap of a year in your life that way. today i am excited to tell you about our latest event, a presentation of fall-winter 17 collection by ksenia schnaider at mercedes-benz kiev fashion days that took place on the fourth of february. so what was it like?

i remember very clearly how intense my desire to work was, when i was at school. i spent last years feeling limited and extremely bored. i hated doing things for the sake of doing them and because you were simply supposed to, expected to. i could not wait to be set free, to make my own choices, to lead a conscious life, to be deliberate. as university came, it turned out that it did not differ from school much. there was no feeling that i was getting any closer to the real world, so i started looking for an opportunity to do so myself outside of any official and mandatory institution. i have already written about it last year here and here in details. have a look, if you are curious to find out more about my first job ever and what came afterwards. meanwhile today i would like to talk a little bit about my first full year of work, about my first proper anniversary at a company, ksenia schnaider, which is a fashion brand, founded in two thousand eleven by a womenswear designer ksenia and a graphic designer, who is now also busy being an art-director at yandex, anton schnaider.

meet tanya khvorostiana

well, well, well! hello-o-o-o <3 after an unexpected two-week break, i am thrilled to be back, and there could be no better way to do it than by sharing a very-very special interview! i am almost sure that you have heard of tanya khvorostiana already, but if you have not - fasten your seatbelt, your world is gonna be rocked soon. let me give you some context. i have seen tanya`s pictures on instagram a few times and i have obviously pointed out to myself that her eye was a special one. she managed to tell stories using images as a tool in a very distinguished way. tanya has been studying in barcelona for three years and has just moved to berlin, when i started following her last year. every time she posted something, i got excited and i wanted more, more, more. her feed was well-thought content of a very genuine kind. she followed me back and then there was snapchat, that kind of brought us together and at some point it was very clear that we had to meet in person.

a day in warsaw

waking up at an unusual place is always exciting. where am i? what am i doing here? i look around and i realize that i am at a hotel in warsaw, and i will wake up here three more times. we arrived yesterday (by the way, you can read my first post about the trip here) and the day did not go as it had been initially planned, but we managed to do what we had to anyway, so we are fine. a free day for exploring the city is waiting ahead, and i am thrilled. i cannot wait to get outside and simply wander around, absorbing everything unnknown around me. luckilly, it is still early, so i have enough time to read a few articles and write my daily post on medium in bed, while also drinking hot coffee.

ksenia schnaider x oh,my presentation

we have all been in the position, where you think "oh, no, it is monday tomorrow" or "ugh, it is monday already", but i have recently discovered that every day can feel like monday and vice versa - mondays can be great too. this was exactly the case yesterday, when we held a presentation of a collaboration between ksenia schnaider and oh,my. everything happened at the least expected location for a fashion event - a modern library bOtan. frankly speaking, i wanted to put everything aside, pick a book from the shelf and read at a cosy spot. however this was not an option! there were so many things to do. luckily, we had great partners. our guests had a chance to eat delicious and healthy cakes by lite delight and try out a new set of healthy drinks by detox shop. it is not news, but you can really make choices, that are both tasty and healthy. even though i ate a burger at one planet afterwards, ha-ha (it was green, ha-ha part two). by the way, i did not have to mention any of the brands, when people are doing a great job, why not?

on racial issues in the modern world

today my new article for thefashioncrowd.com was published and i would like to tell you a little bit about it and discuss some other things. to understand what i am talking about, you can read the article here. 

as the equal rights movement has been getting stronger and stronger (which is undoubtedly a great thing, as every person deserves to have the same rights, as his neighbour or someone on the other continent), terms like "cultural appropriation" appeared. have you heard of it? it means that you are exploitating the elements of other cultures. for example, if i decide to braid my hair into small braids, i will most probably be accused of cultural appropriation. honestly i do not think it is okay. as a person who is keen on the fashion world, i see everything around me as a source of inspiration. literally everything. and i do not see anything wrong with it. i sincerely do not, but maybe there is something i do not get here, so if you have an opinion on the matter - let me know and let`s discuss it.

then there is a question of "why are there white people only?". i bet you read quite a few posts about the oscars this year. "where are the black nominees?" etc. it seemed like a mania to me. oscar is a prize given for the achievements in cinematography, so why are we talking about anything else? i totally agree that there were times when you had to literally fight to have this or that job, but the truth is that today you can go and do it. i am not saying that it will be easy, because it won`t, but you have this opportunity. if you want to make a movie, go find people who can fund it and make it happen. there are a lot of challenges when it comes to creating something, especially as big as the movies are, but when you have a real goal - you overcome everything on the way. on top of that, how can one blame someone for being a racist towards black people, and at the same time forget about a number of other minorities? the world is not just black and white.

the same thing happened after balenciaga show (first collection by a georgian designer demna gvasalia, the co-founder of scandalous vetements). actually this was the last drop that made write the article i mentioned in the beginning. once again, i heard and read comments like "why are there white models only?" etc. first of all, why not? creativity is a way to do what you are inspired to do, not represent someone`s beliefs or make political statements. let`s leave politics to politicians and those, who are more or less in that world. let`s let the art be, and fashion is art too. secondly, why do you only care about black models? i mean, should not we all care about everyone equally? or is there a reason why people of black colour deserve more attention than asians, for example? i do no think so.

anyway, i do not want to make this too long. i just wanted to say that people today like making everyone around feel like you owe them something, like you are guilty and you did a bad thing, be it a representative of an oscar committee or a newly appointed designer. i totally disagree. i have always believed that "actions speak louder than words". this is why i believe we should just do our own thing. i do not mean being ignorant or selfish, i mean concentrating on what you can do best and working as hard as you can and even harder. this way you can become a better version of yourself, as well as positively influence the world. is it not something we all aim for?

also, if any of my words offended you, know that i did not mean to. i respect every human in the world regardless of skin colour and other features (but if he hurt or, even worse, killed somebody - i definitely do not). we should all be kind and act decent. i am looking forward to the day when we can just live and do our thing and forget about racial issues, as well as many other ways of discrimination. each person deserves a normal life and a set of opportunities. hopefully this day will come soon. have i already mentioned that we need to become kinder?  because we really do! 

 

сегодня вышла моя новая статья для thefashioncrowd.com и я бы хотела немного поговорить о ней и не только. для того, чтобы понимать, о чем речь, ты можешь прочитать её здесь. 

движение за равные права в последнее время становится все активнее (что, безусловно, хорошо, ведь каждый человек заслуживает такие же права, как и его сосед, и кто-либо, живущий на другом континенте), в результате появляются термины вроде "культурная аппроприация". тебе оно известно? если нет, то можешь нажать на него и тут же перейдешь на страничку в википедии, а если вкратце, то это понятие охарактеризовывает эксплуатацию элементов другой культуры. например, если я захочу по всей голове заплести маленькие косички, меня, скорее всего, обвинят в культурной аппроприации. если честно, я не думаю, что это нормально. как человек, давно и сильно влюбленный в моду, я рассматриваю весь мир как источник вдохновения без каких-либо ограничений. и я действительно не вижу в этом проблему, но если есть что-то, что я упускаю, а у тебя есть своя точка зрения - обязательно поделись и давай обсудим.

кроме того, есть вопрос "а почему тут только белые?". готова поспорить, что множество новостных материалов на эту тему не прошли мимо тебя перед оскаром в этом году. "где черные номинанты?" и тому подобное. мне это напоминало манию. оскар - приз, дающийся за достижения в кинематографе, так почему мы обсуждаем что-то еще? я не спорю с тем, что были времена, когда нужно было бороться, чтобы заполучить ту или эту работу, но правда в том, что сегодня ты просто можешь пойти и сделать её. я не говорю, что это будет легко, но такая возможность у тебя есть. если хочешь снять фильм, найди продюсеров и сними его. да, на твоем пути будет множество препятствий, особенно если твой проект масштабный, но когда у тебя есть настоящая цель - ты в силах справиться с любыми препятствиями. кроме того, как можно обвинять кого-либо в расизме по отношению к афро-американцам и африканцам, но при этом забывать о других национальных меньшинствах? мир ведь не только черный и белый.

подобная ситуация случилась и после показа balenciaga  (была представлена первая коллекция, созданная грузинским дизайнером демной гвасалией, со-основателем скандального бренда vetements). на самом деле, именно это стало последней каплей и побудило меня к написанию статьи, которую я упоминала ранее. я слышала и читала комментарии типа "почему на показе были только белые модели" и так далее. во-первых, а почему нет? творчество - это возможность делать то, для чего у тебя есть вдохновение, а не представлять чьи-то взгляды или же делать политические заявления. я считаю, что стоит оставить политику политикам и приближенным к ней людям, и дать искусству просто быть. да, мода - тоже искусство. а во-вторых, почему вам есть дело только до чернокожих моделей? разве мы не равны? или же есть причина, по которой чернокожие люди заслуживают больше внимания, чем, например, азиаты? я так не думаю.

но, мне пора сворачиваться, так как не хочется делать этот текст слишком длинным. я просто хотела сказать, что сегодня людям нравится заставлять других чувствовать так, словно им кто-то что-то должен, словно мы виноваты в совершении чего-то плохого. то ли это представители киноакадемии "оскар", то ли только что занявший пост дизайнер. я полностью не согласна. я всегда верила в то, что "действия говорят громче, чем слова". и потому я убеждена, что каждый просто должен заниматься своим делом. я не предлагаю быть невежественным эгоистом, я предлагаю сосредоточиться на том, что ты умеешь делать, и работать как можно усерднее. именно так каждый из нас сможет стать лучшей версией себя, а также, положительно повлиять на этот мир. разве не в этом цель каждого из нас?

если какие-то мои слова тебя задели, знай, что этого в моих планах не было. я уважаю каждого человека на этой планете, вне зависимости от цвета его кожи и других черт внешности (но если он причинил кому-либо боль, или что-то еще хуже, то, конечно же, об уважении речь и не идет). мы все должны быть добрыми людьми и совершать достойные поступки. я с нетерпением жду того дня, когда мы сможем попросту забыть о дискриминации по тем или иным признакам. каждый человек заслуживает нормальную жизнь и набор возможностей. надеюсь, этот день наступит скоро. я уже упоминала о том, что нам нужно быть добрее? это действительно так!

ksenia schnaider fw 16 presentation

depending on whether you follow me on social media or you do not, you may or you may not know that i spent last saturday at "fedoriv hub" being busy at ksenia schnaider fall-winter 2016 presentation. what you see above is the result in the end, and it took us three hours to build it all on the day of the event and a lot of lo-o-ong days of work before. 

on friday i went to bed at about one am, which was actually saturday already, and woke up at six, as i had to leave home at seven. to cheer myself up i wore a pair of nike roche, which i love, but can mostly wear when it is really warm, as they are quite thin. this day was an exception, as it was about zero degrees outside, but i decided to not care. fashion week, you all ;) 

 

i have never been to a creative space "fedoriv hub" before, and i was excited to find out what a cool location it is. do scroll down through the whole post to see more pictures. now back to fashion. the idea of the presentation was to build a real store and announce the launch of an online-store there. it is a game, and a witty one. on top of that, the collection is all about being 100% real, as we live in a fake world today and it is a challenge to find something natural and genuine. 

 

as a result, next to a fall-winter 2016 collection, which consists of the coolest ever jeans, sweaters and t-shirts, as well as a few tops, skirts, dresses and some quilted jackets, one could find pure water, coconut milk, beer, toothpaste, cards and toys, and even hair gel, liquid for cars and conditioner for laundry. it was a lot of fun to brand it all with "ksenia schnaider" and "100%" stickers, as well as observe guests wander around and "steal" the objects. by the way, a surprise video is coming soon. 

 

guests were there for about an hour and a half. after everyone left we destroyed the store, packed everything and finally sat down for a couple of moments with a feeling of accomplishment and a cup of delicious coffee from chashka espresso bar.

в зависимости от того, следишь ли ты за мной в социальных сетях или нет, ты либо знаешь, либо нет о том, что последнюю субботу я провела в креативном пространстве "fedoriv hub", где была занята работой над презентацией коллекции ksenia schnaider осень-зима 16. на конструирование того, что ты видишь на фото, ушло три часа в день мероприятия, и еще множество долгих дней работы до него.

в пятницу я легла спать в час ночи, точнее это уже была суббота, а проснулась в шесть, так как из дома нужно было выйти в семь. чтобы как-то себя порадовать, я решила надеть nike roche, которые я очень люблю, но могу носить лишь в теплое время года, ведь они довольно тонкие. этот день стал исключением, так как на градуснике было ноль градусов, но я решила, что мне всё равно. неделя моды, она такая ;)

 я впервые побывала в креативном пространстве "fedoriv hub", так что была приятно удивлена тем, насколько это крутое место. идея презентации была в том, чтобы построить настоящий магазин для объявления запуска онлайн-магазина. это игра, и, как по мне, очень и очень остроумная. кроме того, суть коллекции в том, что она на 100% настоящая, учитывая то, что мы живем в мире фальши, а найти что-то естественное и настоящее становится испытанием. 

 

в результате, рядом с коллекцией осень-зима 2016, которая состоит из крутейших пар джинсов, свитеров и футболок, а также топов, юбок, платьев и нескольких стеганных жакетов, можно было увидеть чистую воду, кокосовое молоко, пиво, зубную пасту, открытки и игрушки, и даже гель для волос, жидкость для машины и кондиционер для стирки. "брендировать" всю эту продукцию с помощью стикеров "ksenia schnaider" и "100%" было настоящим развлечением. примерно такие же эмоции у меня вызвал процесс наблюдения за гостями, которые не могли удержаться и, конечно же, забирали представленные объекты с собой. кстати, скоро выйдет видео-сюрприз. 

гости провели на презентации около полутора часов и разъехались, после чего мы разрушили магазин, собрали всё то, что осталось, и наконец-то присели на пару минут с ощущением завершенности и стаканчиком вкуснейшего кофе из любимой кофейни "чашка".

have you ever heard about jacques brel? his songs are magical! start by listening to one of them or maybe even a couple here.

just a week ago i mentioned that winters are hard for me because i am incredibly limited in what i can wear if i do not want to freeze to death. due to this i spent last night looking through beautiful pictures, taken in paris in october, and thinking what a pleasure it was back then. every gorgeous piece you see is by a ukrainian brand ksenia schnaider (apart from a pair of my vintage levi`s). i decided to share them with you today. and let`s daydream a bit more together! looking forward to wearing some beauitful outfits outside and travelling again.

слышал(а) ли ты когда-нибудь о жаке брэле? его песни просто волшебные, а потому начни с прослушивания одной из них или даже нескольких вот здесь.

всего неделю назад я писала о том, как тяжело мне пережить зиму, учитывая то, как приходится одеваться, если не хочешь жутко замерзнуть. и именно по этой причине вчера вечером я пересматривала красивые фотографии, сделанные в париже в октябре, и думала о том, каким замечательным был тот день. все, что надето на мне, - творение украинского бренда ksenia schnaider (кроме пары винтажных levi`s). я решила поделиться этими фотографиями с тобой. и давай помечтаем еще немного вместе! я с нетерпением жду возможности снова надевать красивые наряды на улицу и путешествовать.

a gift to oneself

as the year is coming to its end everyone is busy: finishing their studies, work, other tasks (such as buying gifts and choosing an outfit for the special day/night), and everyone is stressed. we buy presents for everyone around us and rarely for ourselves. we praise every single person but ourselves. let`s change this! today i am going to remind you about you! have a look at your schedule and then find some time to have a special moment with yourself! this may sound crazy, but believe me, it is such an important and an enjoyable thing to do! what i suggest is going and buying a present for yourself! or just going to a cafe and enjoying a cup of coffee. you may read a magazine you have had for ages or a book you have not opened for quite a while. also, you may think about two thousand fifeteen and analyze it (but, please, do not point out the bad things, think only about all the good ones). you will feel much better afterwards!

i am verry happy, because yesterday i have finally bought a sweatshirt created by rcr khomenko. this is what my "christmas sweater" looks like this year! and i lo-o-ove it. i know it is, probably, too bright, but it is exactly what one needs to cheer up and enjoy this period of the year even more! seriously, i am so glad i found time to go and see yasya, the designer, and choose a present for myself at her studio in kiev. if you would like to own one too, send her a message! even if you are not in kiev or even further - not in ukraine, send her a message anyway! and i am sure she can send it to you by post wherever you are! by the way, there is a great variety of colours and prints, as well as sizes. 

what about now? i am going to make a cup of vanilla tea with a delicious dessert i made yesterday! the sun is out in kiev today. and how is the weather where you are? 

год подходит к концу, в связи с чем все очень и очень заняты: заканчивая учебу, работу и другие задания (такие как покупка подарков и выбор наряда для особенного дня/ночи), и, естественно, все напряжены. мы покупаем подарки для всех вокруг, кроме себя; хвалим всех, забывая о себе. так давай же менять это! сегодня я хочу напомнить тебе о тебе же! посмотри на свой график и найди возможность приятно провести время с собой. это может звучать дико, но поверь мне, подобные действия очень важны и особо приятны. так что же я предлагаю? пойди и купи себе подарок. или же просто "своди" себя в кафе и насладись чашечкой вкусного кофе, почитай журнал, который у тебя уже сто лет, или же книгу, которая была закрытой слишком долго. или же просто подумай о две тысячи пятнадцатом году и проанализируй его (но, пожалуйста, не зацикливайся на плохом, думай исключительно о хорошем). после ты почувствуешь себя гораздо лучше!

я очень счастлива потому, что вчера наконец-то купила себе свитшот  rcr khomenko. в этом году именно так будет выглядеть мой "новогодний свитер". и я от него просто в восторге! я знаю, что он все-таки ярковат, но это именно то, что нужно для того, чтобы взбодриться и еще сильнее наслаждаться этим временем года. серьезно, я очень и очень рада тому, что я нашла время и таки доехала до ясиной студии в киеве, где выбрала для себя подарок. если ты тоже такой хочешь - просто напиши ей сообщение. и даже если ты не в киеве - все равно напиши. и я уверена, ты сможешь получить его по почте. кстати, цвета и принты есть самые разные, так же как и размеры!

 а что теперь? я собираюсь заварить себе чашечку вкусного чая и съесть парочку пирожных с заварным кремом, сделанных мною вчера. в киеве сегодня даже вышло солнце, а как с погодой там, где живешь ты?
