в июне ситуация с чтением сложилась так, как обычно складывается у меня с настроением или энергией. сначала был неожиданный подъем, во время которого было неописуемо хорошо, но потом - очень резкий и сильный спад далеко-далеко вниз, а после - медленное возвращение хотя бы к более или менее привычной норме. что я имею ввиду? а то, что в один из первых дней июня я прочла книгу, которая впечатлила и очень глубоко меня тронула, а потом я взялась за ту, которая немного разочаровала. дальше был перерыв в связи с приездом никиты, когда я не читала и не писала, а показывала лучшему своему другому и любимой моей компании город, в котором живу уже десять месяцев. и вот, он уехал, чтение должно было помочь мне взбодриться после очередного прощания, но вместо этого и читать не получалось, и было непонятно, что читать дальше. но в итоге, первый месяц лета и шестой месяц этого года закончился, когда я таки справилась с еще одной книгой на французском и начала ту, которую буду теперь всем советовать.

the state of my reading in june resembled my ordinary mood or energy levels a lot. at first, there was an unexpected rise, when i felt really-really good, then there was an abrupt and intense decline. and finally i experienced a slow сomeback to what i consider my norm more or less. what do i mean? well, at the very beginning of june i spent a whole day reading an extraordinary book that impressed and deeply touched me. unfortunately the one that followed slightly disappointed me. then there was an atypical break for me because of nikita`s visit when i was neither reading, nor writing. instead i spent my entire days showing the city that i had been living in for ten most to my best friend and my favourite companion. eight day together were as short as eight minutes are. when he left, reading was supposed to help me cope with yet another "goodbye", but instead i neither wanted to read, nor i could decide what to read next. luckily, i figure it all out. the first summer month and the sixth month of the year came to its end, when i finally managed to finish another book in french and started reading a book that i will now recommend to everyone.

в феврале было еще холоднее, чем в январе, так что я продолжала прятаться от морозов и снегопадов дома, в библиотеке и в уютных кафе, много-много читая. за эти четыре недели я прочла несколько книг, которые мне очень понравились и парочку таких, которые по разным причинам меня разочаровали. еще были книги по учебе и несколько книг, которые я уже читала. а этот пост я в итоге писала в несколько подходов. начала его за день до того, как узнала, что таки лечу в париж на неделю моды, продолжила - в самолете, а дописала основную часть уже в парижской квартире. вот такие вот у него приключения!

february turned out to be even colder than january had been, so i kept on hiding at home, at the library and in cozy cafes, while reading a lot. i have managed to read quite a few books in fours months, including a couple that i really liked, a couple that disappointed me for different reasons and a couple that i had read before. also, i would like to tell you that it took me a few attempts to write this post. i started it a day before i found that i would definitely go to paris for fashion week, then i continued writing it on the plane and finally wrote its main part in a parisian apartment. isn`t it a fun way to write? it is!

в этом месяце я наконец-то добралась до привезенных из киева книг "миф", купила три книги из серии "the do book" и получила от ани в подарок привезенную из парижа и только что вышедшую "à paris" с автографами лорен и жанн <3 кроме того, я забрала из университетской библиотеки последнюю книгу хиллари клинтон, которую университет купил по моей же рекомендации, а в последний день ноября я дочитала шестидесятую книгу в этом году и справилась со своим goodreads 2017 reading challenge. в общем, это был очередной замечательный месяц в плане чтения! открывай полный пост, чтобы узнать больше.

i finally managed to read the books by "mif" that i had brought from kiev, i bought three books from "the do book" series and received a newly-published "à paris" with the autographs of lauren and jeanne as a gift from paris <3 on top of that, i picked up the last book of hillary clinton from my uniersity`s library (they had bought it because of my recommendation). i finished reading the sixtieth book this year on the last day of november and therefore completed my goodreads 2017 reading challenge. all in all, it was another fantastic month in terms of reading, so open the full version of this post to find out more.

человек, который в августе не работал, успел прочесть восемь книг. такого масштабного читательского отчета у меня еще не было! этот месяц был волшебным в плане продуктивности во всех сферах жизни, чему я безумно рада. очень надеюсь на то, что количество текста тебя не испугает, потому что за последние четыре недели я прочла действительно стоящие внимания книги, рассказывать о которых то еще удовольствие <3

a human being, who had no work to deal with in august, had enough time to read eight books in a month. i have never had such an amplitudinous reading report. august was a magical period in terms of productivity in all spheres of life, and i am happy thanks to even just thinking about it. i hope that the amount of text below won`t freak you out, because i have read some truly worthy books in august, and telling you about them is an extraordinary pleasure <3

изначально у меня было ощущение, что с чтением в июне не сложится. постоянно появлялись новые дела и что-то мешало отложить в сторону ноутбук с телефоном и взять в руки книгу. но потом я вернулась в обычное для меня состояние, когда книга настолько хороша, что прикладываешь усилия для того, чтобы закончить с делами поскорее, что-то необязательное откладываешь и читаешь, читаешь, читаешь.

reading is an important part of my life. i can imagine neither a weekday, nor a weekend without a book. it is the same with holidays and vacations. no matter what kind of plans i make, books are involved as well. when it comes to travelling to a place, where i can buy something, i prefer to bring no books with me. this is exactly what i did this time. i wanted to go to local bookstores, wander around and pick something there. the first day of the trip was different from the rest, because i really wanted to read a book, but did not have one, so i looked for a bookstore, bought two (just in case, you know) and started reading one of them almost right away.

at first i thought that i would start this post by saying that it was difficult to find time to read in february. there were a few very important deadlines throughout the month, so basically the time that i would usually spend reading, like early mornings or late evenings, was dedicated to finishing important tasks. however, this thought reminded me of something, that i keep on pointing out to others all the f time - you either make time for something or you don`t. i do not have more time than anyone else, but i have priorities.

for example, i hoped to go back to yoga studio after not being able to go in january and then i just saw that rationally i could not afford giving away three hours (to get there, to be there, to go back) and i had to skip it. i felt guilty and upset, because i really wanted to go and because it made me feel so much better, but i just did not have enough time. instead i tried to do a litle bit of yoga here and there at home. something is always better than nothing. whereas with reading, i just love and need it so much, that i have to read at least a tiny bit every single day to remain sane, so i make it happen. that is why i would like to let you know one more time - if you want to read more - have a look at how you spend your time and get rid of something, because this is the only way to get things done. it works the same way for everything. i know that in march i am going to oversee my schedule one more time to make yoga studio a part of it again, but that is a subject for another post. books are what we are here today to discuss, right? YES <3

fifty books in eleven months

two thousand sixteen is not even over yet and i am already summarizing what it has been like. reading plays a major role in my life and this is the first time, when i got a chance to properly analyze it. when the year started, i had a notion that i wanted to get better at organizing and structuring my life. i asked myself, how could i do it? tracking my reading habits seemed like a good way to start. eleven months later i have some results to share with you, as well as quite a few details on when and how i have read fifty books in eleven months (nine, if to be perfectly frank).
